Face to face, online and telephone sessions currently offered. £65 per session of CBT and £65 per session of EMDR.  I do not hold a waiting list so that I can offer you an appointment as soon as you need it, however, I will close my enquiries from time to time to give current clients flexibility with their appointments.

I only work with people 18 years and over.

I am a BABCP accredited cognitive behavioural therapist and a previously registered Occupational Therapist. I provide personalised CBT for people with anxiety disorders e.g. OCD, health anxiety, Generalised anxiety disorder (worry about everything), panic disorder, phobias, social anxiety, PTSD, low self esteem and depression. I also look at wellbeing issues e.g. sleep. I also offer EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) for trauma and anxiety. I am available Tuesday to Thursday throughout the day until 6pm. Parking on site is free.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - We look at how your thoughts, feelings and behaviours are keeping you stuck in a vicious cycle and the triggers that keep them going. EMDR is a specialist psychotherapy specifically dealing with trauma and some anxiety disorders.

Are you feeling lonely yet surrounded by others, out of place, just getting by, or putting a 'mask' on for everyone else, if so, then have a chat with me and see what I can offer you. I offer a free 20 minute telephone consultation for you to discuss your needs. No obligation to continue into therapy.

Please have a look around the site and have a look at the 'about me' section to see if you feel we can work together.

I am so happy that you have made your first step forward. Therapy can be a very daunting experience and is not as you see it portrayed by the media. It is a non-judgemental space, where you can look at what is happening and discuss how this is helping/not helping.

You can book online, both consultation and therapy sessions.  I look forward to hearing from you.

What To Expect At Your Visit

Perhaps you're depressed or anxious - maybe you're unsure about the future or just feel that you aren't living the life you were meant to lead. Whatever your needs may be, I am here to offer support. Therapy is a process of growth and self-discovery, and in my sessions, I promote cognitive and behavioural transformation by encouraging a balanced outlook and the adoption of new attitudes and reactions. I have the tools and professional experience to help you get back on track.

We will discuss how therapy will be delivered at the 20 minute telephone consultation. e.g. telephone, Skype or face to face. We will discuss your current issues, what would be the next best step and what is involved in CBT/EMDR. CBT/EMDR may not be the best therapy for you currently and appropriate advice will be given. The sessions will be 50 - 60 minutes long. Book a consultation or appointment online at the top of the page.

Maybe you have a social occasion coming up e.g. bride, best man, or a driving test and need some stress/anxiety management as a one off session?

Are you on a waiting list for CBT and need a one off session to keep you going whilst you wait?

What is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)? CBT is a talking therapy that can help people manage their problems by changing the way they think and therefore behave, it is often successfuly used to treat anxiety and depression, but is useful for a range of physical and mental health problems, including long term conditions, pain and sleep issues. CBT can help you deal with your negative thinking and behaviours in a more balanced way, therefore changing your emotions. CBT recognises that your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and behaviours are connected and can trap you in a vicious cycle where negative thinking becomes dominant.

Sessions can be conducted face to face, (I am based in Teesside) over the telephone or via Skype. I am happy to offer you a course of therapy or a single session, if that is appropriate. Contact me today and let me help you find the best in yourself. Book a consultation or appointment online at the top of the page.

EMDR, Eye Movement Desensitization and R

As a therapeutic approach, EMDR is based on several theories of psychotherapy, including CBT. Through EMDR techniques, which use eye movements, hand tapping and/or audio stimulation to unblock emotional processes that have been stagnant due to distress, you can re-train your brain, in a sense, to begin to heal from the fear and pain associated with such trauma and emotional distress.  Additionally, EMDR may allow you to gain a new perspective that can facilitate improved self esteem.

EMDR involves phases of treatment that focus on past, present and the future, helping you work through emotional disturbance, trauma and learn skills to cope with current and future stress.  Treatment may cause rapid relief from your symptoms and even has the potential to help you to begin to feel better after the first session, although there is a great deal of variation in responses.

EMDR is primarily used to overcome symptoms associated with post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).  However, EMDR has been found to effectively treat other mood and anxiety disorders, including depression, phobias, panic disorder, grief and chronic pain.
